Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of ChessRamp (“ChessRamp”, “we”, “our”, or “us”), including https://www.chessramp.com, the ChessRamp browser extension, and any related features (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who Can Use ChessRamp

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. By using ChessRamp, you represent that you meet this requirement and that any information you provide is accurate.

2. Your Account

Some features require an account, created via Google Sign-In or another supported method. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your account and credentials.
• All activity that occurs under your account.
• Providing accurate account information.

Notify us promptly at support@chessramp.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

3. The Service

ChessRamp provides chess analysis and training tools, including but not limited to:

• Game review and engine analysis of games you import or link.
• An interactive analysis board.
• Puzzles, puzzle survival, and mistake training.
• Position and opening study tools.
• AI-assisted coaching features.
• A browser extension that adds analysis to supported chess websites.

We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We do not guarantee that any specific feature will remain available, and evaluations, ratings, and engine-generated feedback are estimates provided for informational and training purposes only — not a guarantee of chess skill, rating, or performance.

4. Premium Subscriptions and Payment

ChessRamp offers optional paid Premium features on a subscription basis. By purchasing Premium, you agree that:

• Payments are processed by Stripe, our third-party payment processor; we do not store your full payment card details.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until cancelled.
• You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless stated otherwise.
• Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated at the time of purchase.
• We may change subscription pricing or plans with reasonable notice; changes apply to future billing cycles.

Your Premium entitlement is tied to your account and verified server-side each time you use paid features. Sharing accounts to circumvent subscription limits is not permitted.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to cheat in live or rated games on third-party platforms (for example, real-time engine assistance during a game you are actively playing).
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or scrape the Service beyond what supported APIs and features allow.
• Interfere with, overload, or attempt to disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
• Circumvent authentication, rate limits, or subscription/entitlement checks.
• Use the Service to violate any applicable law or the terms of a third-party chess platform (such as Chess.com or Lichess).
• Upload content you do not have the right to share, or content that is unlawful, infringing, or harmful.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, at our discretion, with or without notice.

6. Browser Extension

The ChessRamp browser extension operates only on supported chess websites and requests only the permissions necessary to provide its functionality, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for complying with the rules of any third-party website you use the extension on.

7. Third-Party Platforms

ChessRamp integrates with third-party services such as Chess.com and Lichess to import games and data at your request. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of these third-party platforms, and your use of them remains subject to their own terms.

8. Your Content

You retain ownership of the games, PGNs, and other content you upload or import (“Your Content”). By submitting Your Content, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and analyze it solely to provide and improve the Service. You represent that you have the right to submit Your Content.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, and generated analysis presentation, is owned by ChessRamp or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except for the limited rights expressly granted to you to use the Service, no other rights are granted.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChessRamp and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim arose.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service, with notice where reasonably practicable. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 9, 10, 11, and 14) will survive.

13. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms on this page and update the Effective Date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory local consumer protection law provides otherwise for users outside that jurisdiction.
